About Beyond The Treat

Beyond The Treat started with one simple goal – we wanted to make pet ownership a simple and pleasurable experience for everybody, no matter their experience or pet that they own. Pet ownership can be confusing or overwhelming at times, and we wanted to change that for as many people as possible.

The Beginning

While beyondthetreat.com was founded in 2018, it’s hard to say when it truly began. The writers and contributors of Beyond The Treat have been pet owners and lovers for years upon years – some of them owning pets since the day they were born! These days, pet information is becoming more and more available on the internet, but with that quantity came bad information as well. This bad information is something that we’ve been combating since day 1!

Our Mission

As the number of pets increases in the world, so does the number of pet owners. We know how important it is that this growing number of pet owners has fantastic relationships with their pets. A healthy pet makes for a happy pet, and a happy pet makes for a happy owner – and it’s this cycle that truly makes pet ownership something incredible. We want to make sure that every pet owner knows how to best take care of their furry (or scaly) friend and give them the best life possible.

With dozens of years of pet ownership under our belt, we couldn’t let our knowledge and experience go to waste, so every post we write is written with love and care to make sure that every pet lives the life it deserves.

Zach is a life-long pet owner and enthusiast. He was born into a family with a dog named Murphy, and since then has owned several other dogs, mice, ferrets, fish, geckos, salamanders, tarantulas, and a cat. He’s also frequently helped care for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and other small pets. This experience has given him the knowledge necessary to help others become excellent pet owners.
